Got Favre...for another year?

As many of people know that the Packers had a very surprising year in 07. Even I was shocked as a Packers fan myself. If you asked me in the summer how the Pack would do this year, I would've told you that we would be lucky to win 10 games this season. Boy, was I wrong or what.

From last years draft the Packers drafted playere that I was very unsure of. In the first round they drafted a DT from University of Tenn, Harrell and then a RB in the second, Brandon Jackson. Then later on the draft they got James Jones, Korey Hall, and a few players on defense. After the draft ended, I was still unsure what the Packers were doing. But if you look at the names I listed from the Packers draft in 07, each player contributed in some way in the 07 season. So with the season over now and as I look back at the draft, the Pack made some smart decisions in the 07 draft.

When the Packers started the season off 2-0 and then 4-0, many fans like myself were shocked in how well the Pack were playing. I thought Favre was playing very well which lead to his best seasons since he won the Superbowl. He supassed many records from Elway's most wins at QB (148) now 149, to passing Dan Marino on the TD and most yards list. Overall, this was the Favre the Packers fans loved. The one who won every game even if the team was down by a touchdown. The old Brett was back again.

Then came the playoffs with the Packers at 13-3 for the season, as they were playing a Conference game at the Frozen Thundra, against the G-Men. I really thought this would be a win for the Pack, but I waas wrong as in OT Brett threw a interception which set up a 49 yards field goal try for Tynes...which we now know today was good. The season for the Packers was done, I thought The Pack would go back to the Superbowl for Favre in a movie type ending like the one in Superbowl 40 with Bettis winning it before he retired. But it didn't happen like that. Favre walked off the field with a interception which left a bad taste in his mouth.

That bad taste lasted for a while, that taste made Favre, I believe pull out of the Pro-Bowl. Now the question is if he should come back in the 08 season. I believe he should. The team is set for him to come back. The Packers have the weapons needed to make a run again into the playoffs. Thier defense played well in every game and can still continue next season as well. The Offense looked explosive with Driver and Jennings playing well with rookie recivers Jones and Martin filling in too. Also with the emergence of RB Ryan Grant and Brandon Jackson (late in the playoffs), they now have a decent running game which next season can become a two headed monster type of RB core. I know some of you people, may say what about Grant in the Giants game in the playoffs. Hey even RB can have bad games like Qb's and plus the Packers didn't committ to the run in the game as they did against the Seashawks game. I think it would be very odd for Favre not to return next season, with the team in place that could win the NFC North again next season, they have a good chance of Farve leaning towards coming back for another season. But this is what I'm thinking and I could be wrong too. Every thing seems to indicate that number 4 could come back. I'll see you guys later... If I'll blog, the readers will come!!!

What if the Bengels traded Chad Johnson to the Packers... I wish.
